Need quality activities for your children during the coronavirus quarantine? Allow professional mixed media artist, Jordan Kim, guide your 6-12 year old though a 2-hour creative collage project online using the Zoom platform. Jordan is a teaching artist with Arts in Education of the Gorge and frequently teaches students ranging from 5-13 years old through the public schools. This project will focus on making wide-eyed collage animals.
To do this project, your child will need the following supplies:
- White copy paper
- Scissors
- Crayons
- Markers
- Watercolors
- Glue - any kind will do - Elmers, Mod Podge, Glue Stick
- One sheet of heavy paper - construction or watercolor (any color is okay)
- Black sharpie - small tip
- White gel pen ( a white crayon could substitute)
- Printer - for parent to print off template
If you need any of these items and live in the Gorge area, Tokki Art Supply has them in stock and available for a quick, sanitary pick up!
If you are not familiar with Zoom, it is a free, secure, video conferencing platform. You do not need to download any programs to use it. Once you register, you will be sent a secure link and password that you can use to log your child into the class on any device (phone, computer or tablet) at the scheduled class time. You can choose to allow your child to share his/her screen or not. Jordan will give *live* instruction. (*Note that this is not a pre-recorded class!) If you opt to allow screen sharing, children can get personal assistance with their projects. This is not a requirement for the course.
Cost is $20/class. **Please note: Class fee is per household, not per child.** In partnership with Tokki Art Supply.
